How to Clean Laptops

Laptops need to be cleaned regularly. Being a mobile device, a laptop is generally carried to a number of places. So it is obvious that dirt gets deposited both on the external parts such as the flab, touchpad, keyboard, screen, etc and the internal parts such as the cooling fan, air vents, etc. Such external dirt will minimize the clarity of the visuals and also will spoil the look of the expensive device. Internal dirt will affect the performance of the laptop. This mandates the need for you to clean the laptop periodically.

Unplug your laptop completely and then proceed to clean. Make sure you use cleaning agents that are specified by the manufacturer. You can refer to the user manual where there will be instructions provided on cleaning the laptop. Make sure you go through it completely before you venture out to clean.

Take a soft cloth piece, spray some harmless cleaning agent onto it and then gently wipe the exteriors of the laptop. Do not spray the cleanser directly onto the laptop screens or any other external surface. For the air vents and cooling fans, use a can of compressed air. Spray gently. Do not spin the fan vigorously. Hold the fan in place using some soft cloth while you clean.

Gently wipe off the dirt mounting on the ports with cotton pads. Do not remove the keys while cleaning unless the manual recommends it. You can spray compressed air to clean the dirt settling on the keys and use cotton swabs to remove dirt sticking between the keys. Use a combination of isopropyl alcohol and water to clean the monitor. Spray the solution to a soft cloth piece and then wipe the screen gently. Do not spray onto monitor directly. Take extreme care while cleaning laptops.
