Eliminate Clutter, Organize Your Closet!

The term closet is derived from the word clausum which means closed. It started in the seventeenth century as a small room that is often located at the back of a bedroom, before it is used for privacy purposes like reading, doing personal artworks and many more. In the present day a closet is known as an enclosed space, which is considered as one of the most practical and convenient items inside a house or in any type of building. Things such as clothes, shoes and other items can be stored in it. Sometimes it can also be an ideal place for storing food.

One of the main purposes for having a closet is to reduce or eliminate clutter in a room. This is why considering closet organization is important. If it looks as though a hurricane passed by your closet then do not fret because you can achieve an organized closet by following these few simple tips.

Determine the things that you still need to keep. If you have not used a shirt or any item in a year then it is advised that you either throw it or give it away.  Get rid of a shirt or jeans that do not fit you very well. But if you really like the item then try putting a yellow ribbon or any sign on the hanger. If you have worn it within the year then remove the ribbon but if you have not worn it you need to totally remove the item from your closet. The ribbon will be your reminder.

Write a description about the shoes inside a shoe box so you can easily determine what is inside the box. Try investing on clear storage shoe box for an easier access on your shoes.

Make use of all the spaces inside your closet like the edges, the back doors, etc. If you will buy bins or other storage items then make sure that you know the measurement of the closet.
