The yearnings for fresh air and energy of excitement come when one mentions bow hunting to an outdoor enthusiast. This sport involves hunting various game with a bow and arrow. Hunting with a bow–also known as archery–takes precision and skillmanship unlike any other sport. Unlike hunting with a rifle, using a bow and arrow requires a shot to be taken within only a few yards–usually within 2-60 yards. This range depends on the individual’s skill level, the game being hunted, the type or strength of the arrow, and even the weather. The bigger the game, the heavier the weight of the arrow needed. There are also different types of bows. There are crossbows and wooden bows, which launch wooden arrows with stone points. There is bowfishing equipment which is used for bow fishing. This variety has a line attached to a spool or reel and is a heavier type of bow to suit its purpose.

Like all game hunting and fishing, every sportsman must be aware of and follow each state’s hunting laws and obtain proper permits. Most archery hunting seasons are set for the fall seasons. There are rules that specify which gender is huntable game, and size and limit amounts are defined. Hunting is regulated by DNR or wildlife officials, and is meant to be done so wisely–within the harmony of the environment and current game populations. Hunting using archery is a sport that can be taught even to younger adults. Many high schools include it in their curriculum by using a target practice area. Neck lanyards come in a variety of styles and the straps are either round or flat and vary in size. Flat straps can be found up to ¾ of an inch wide are usually used as a place to put a logo or other advertising. Some lanyards are screen printed and others have the logo woven into the strap, the wider straps may fit nicer around your neck and be more comfortable for holding heavier objects. All of these lanyards are made in a breakaway neck lanyard style and have a safety clip that will come apart if the lanyard is caught on something. This will save your neck from injury, but it might do harm to a cell phone or digital camera that hits the pavement when the neck lanyard strap separates. Depending on what you are doing a non-breakaway strap may be the best choice for carrying electronic devices and a breakaway lanyard for name badges and other lighter weight things.

Remember, fit the lanyard to the object you want to secure and also to the outing you have planned. You may need to sacrifice your physical neck safety with the safety of your favorite camera or cell phone.
