Shopping For An Inexpensive Cell Phone
Being a single mother, I don’t have all that much money to spend on a cell phone, but by the same token, a cell phone is very important for emergency purposes, as well as keeping in touch with loved ones. I found that cell phones with a camera are what was most desireable to me, as I can text family and friends as well as share pictures, but my budget just wasn’t having it, so I went on a search for cheap cell phones with a cheap plan that even a single mother like myself can afford.
Just about any cell phone with a plan is relatively cheap, the problem being activation costs, a cost if I want to terminate my contract, etc, so I knew ultimately, that wasn’t an option. That’s when I went searching for the best pre-paid phones on the market. Of course, Virgin Mobile came in a close first for me offering their Jax, which came in under $10, their TNT, also coming in under $10, and their Flare, for $19, all found on the WalMart website, as WalMart stores don’t seem to carry the actual phones anymore. Virgin Mobile is an excellent service for avid texters and people who do a bit of talking, offering an excellent plan for $25 a month, but what if I wasn’t looking for that?
TracFone also offers a few cell phones for under $20, including the LG410 with double minutes for the life of the phone and the Samsung T105G-4. Kajeet, which offers great plans for as low as $4 a month, have two sleek LG phones on thier website, the LG 225 for just $29.99, and the LG 125 for just $24.99. Best Buy offers some great MetroPCS phones by Samsung, with their Blackberry-like Freeform coming in at just $39.99, the best of the cheap smartphones prepaid I’ve seen. All in all, there are a ton of wonderful phones for cheap prices these days with technology getting more and more advanced. Virgin Mobile offers touchscreen phones and Blackberries for a fraction of the cost of a Boost phone, so be sure you check your competitors rates before buying a phone.
I’d suggest bowsing sites like E-bay, also, as a lot of times you can find great deals on unopened cell phones, like a $7 TracFone that I recieved in the mail a week ago, retailed in the store for $14.99. I hope this helped, happy shopping!
